Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater KC in Overland Park, KS is seeking part-time swim instructors to deliver American Red Cross-based lessons to children from 6 months old and up. Schedule includes Tuesday/Thursday evenings 5pm-7pm and Sundays 12pm-2pm.

Compensation starts at $11-13 per 30-minute lesson, based on experience. Responsibilities include guiding students of all levels, maintaining attendance, and adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain American Red Cross WSI certification (courses offered at The J)
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and parents
• Provide excellent customer service
• Prior competitive swimming, teaching or coaching experience is a plus
• We will train new employees to teach private, custom swim lessons

Responsibilities

• Provides quality instruction to individuals and small groups as assigned
• Teaches skill-based instruction as outlined by the American Red Cross
• Maintains accurate attendance and performance records
• Follows and enforces all safety guidelines, policies and procedures of The J and the Aquatics Department
