Description

The Wasserstrom Company, established in 1902 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. We currently have an opening for a Group Sales Manager.

This role involves leading the group sales team in managing existing accounts and developing new ones for the Equipment Division.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading business development efforts by engaging with independent and multi-unit restaurants, architects, and other professionals to promote our products and services.
  2. Training team members on design guidelines and industry best practices, and developing cost estimates based on customer documents.
  3. Working with clients to select equipment, suggest process improvements, and reduce costs.
  4. Drafting and reviewing sales contracts to ensure accurate pricing and discount strategies.
  5. Identifying potential clients through territory knowledge, focusing on existing businesses, startups, and non-food service entities with equipment needs.
  6. Maintaining and expanding existing client relationships via meetings and contacts, including cross-selling product offerings.
  7. Assessing client needs through observation and interviews, recommending suitable products.
  8. Matching client needs with available products, considering end-use and regulatory requirements.
  9. Promoting the use of NexGen and preferred vendors, providing training and support.
  10. Assisting with credit account setup and resolving credit or service issues.
  11. Serving as a consultant by analyzing client needs and processing orders.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of related experience, specifically in foodservice equipment and supplies.

Preferred:

  • 2- or 4-year college or university degree.
