Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio is seeking a Group Product Manager who will own one or more NextGen solutions end to end, guiding discovery, requirements, and shipping with engineering and design partners. You will mentor a small team of Product Managers and set the strategy across the portfolio, aligning with sales, implementation, and client support.

You will drive a cohesive product strategy, explore AI applications, and ensure releases meet compliance and customer needs across higher education

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself.
• 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—discovery, requirements, prioritization, and partnership with engineering and design to ship.
• Lead a small team of Product Managers, mentoring and growing their craft and recruiting talent as the team expands.
• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and translate goals into a sequenced plan.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches that are market-ready and easy for institutions to adopt.
