Your Role on Our Team:

As the Group Manager for Data Governance and ML Ops, your role on the team will be pivotal in driving our organization's data strategy and machine learning operations to new heights, leveraging Databricks and Unity Catalog as key tools. You will lead a cross-functional team responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks using Unity Catalog, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across all our systems within the Databricks ecosystem. Additionally, you'll spearhead the development and implementation of ML Ops best practices, streamlining the lifecycle of machine learning models from development to deployment and monitoring on the Databricks platform. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering collaboration between data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, as well as in championing a data-driven culture throughout the organization, utilizing Unity Catalog's centralized governance capabilities. By balancing technical expertise with strategic vision, you'll play a key role in maximizing the value of our data assets and accelerating our AI and ML initiatives, directly contributing to the company's competitive edge in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

ML Ops Duties:

1. Automate machine learning model deployment and CI/CD pipelines to account for data, code, and model changes.
2. Set up monitoring tools for ML pipelines, tracking metrics like response time, error rates, and resource utilization.
3. Containerize models using Docker and deploy on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
4. Implement model version tracking, governance, and automated retraining.
5. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop and maintain scalable MLOps frameworks.

Data Governance Duties:

1. Establish and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards, and practices.
2. Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise data assets, including authoritative systems and data owners.
3. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance, ensuring clear accountability for data stewardship.
4. Ensure compliance with data-related laws, regulations, and industry standards.
5. Oversee data quality, consistency, and protection across the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

• Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
• Extensive experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Deep understanding of industry compliance standards and data governance best practices.
• Proficiency in data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tools, with hands-on experience in Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Demonstrated ability to establish data quality metrics and implement data quality management processes across an organization.
• Strong background in machine learning lifecycle management, including model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines for ML models and automated testing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools and platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in cloud-based ML services and infrastructure, particularly within the Databricks ecosystem and Unity Catalog.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

• Experience leading successful data governance and ML Ops initiatives in a multi-cloud environment, demonstrating the ability to navigate and integrate diverse cloud platforms.
• Advanced certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP - Certified Data Management Professional) or cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks Certified Professional, AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty).
• Published work or speaking engagements at industry conferences on topics related to data governance, ML Ops, or innovative uses of Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Proven track record of implementing data mesh architecture principles, showcasing the ability to drive decentralized, domain-oriented data ownership and architecture.
