JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Great Valley is searching for a full-time Group Leader, Maintenance Worker Utility to join their team. Duties include:

• Oversee the work of Janitorial Workers and Maintenance Worker Utility personnel to ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean and habitable condition.
• Assist in orienting employees to their work areas; instruct new personnel on methods and procedures; ensure that new cleaning methods or operational procedures are followed.
• Report room and building conditions, need for equipment, supplies, etc., to supervisor.
• Report repairs needed in buildings; note and report safety hazards, equipment failures, and repair needs.
• Order janitorial supplies, check deliveries, distribute supplies, and control usage.
• Operate various cleaning equipment and perform floor and furniture cleaning tasks.
• Replace bulbs, fixtures, shades, covers, blinds, screens, wall hangings, etc.
• Assist with waste removal and debris cleanup.
• Coordinate moving and relocation of furniture, equipment, and supplies; assist in unloading materials and moving items to storage.
• Operate motor vehicles for transporting materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean condition; report unusual conditions.
• Shovel snow, spread cinders, sand, or anti-skid materials as needed.
• Clean glass, mirrors, fixtures, restrooms, and stock dispensers.
• Lock and unlock doors; check locks and maintain entrances.
• Set up and clean up for events, including arranging chairs, tables, stages, and AV equipment.

Job Requirements: Requires basic arithmetic skills, ability to follow instructions, and use of gauges and instruments. 6 to 9 months of effective experience.

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m., Friday 1:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Days Off: Saturday, Sunday

Note: This position requires operating a motor vehicle. A valid driver’s license and successful motor vehicle records check are required.
