Job summary

Brodart is seeking a production supervisor to lead front line production flow and guide employees in meeting schedules and goals. You will train staff, assign work, and coordinate with supervision to keep operations efficient and safe.

In this role, you will monitor processes, resolve issues, ensure resources are available, and maintain attendance and safety standards. The position requires overtime as needed and strong teamwork in a production environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a production operation.
  • PC proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and prioritize work assignments.
  • Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and responsive to changing work environments.

Description Under the direction of the Supervisor, Production, this position provides front line support for production flow and processes to provide direction to production employees in efficiently meeting production schedules and goals.

  • Respond to questions regarding daily work procedures, provide training and assign work in a manner which maximizes production output.
  • Resolve issues and solve problems impeding production flow and/or seek improvements in processes to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources and supplies are procured and available to support operations.
  • Process components and perform production tasks as needed to ensure completion of orders.
  • Monitor and alert management of policy infractions or other issues that may need to be addressed.
  • Report and maintain LDR statistics.
  • Responsible to perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed by supervisor.
  • Responsible for regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Encourage and maintain safe, clean and organized work areas.
  • Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required by supervision.
  • Directly and indirectly supervise employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include but are not limited to training employees; planning, delegating, assigning and directing work; monitoring, and coaching performance and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and prioritize work assignments.
  • Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and responsive to changing work environments.
  • Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with subordinates and management and to enforce and support Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise (conveyor), dust and glue or adhesives.
  • Close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently and pushing book trucks weighing several hundred pounds. Standing and walking.
  • This position is subject to scheduled overtime which may be required based on production needs.
