Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Group Leader in Spring Hill, Tennessee to manage the efficient use of personnel, materials, and equipment and to lead hourly teams. You will drive lean manufacturing practices, support launches, and coordinate with unions while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory experience, a high school diploma or GED (associates or bachelors preferred), and a commitment to training and developing staff under the Global Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Oversee effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment; train and evaluate hourly team members.
• Lead GMS processes and support launch and pilot activities.
• Meet production cost schedules and maintain quality.
• Maintain awareness of quality standards and drive issue resolution.
• Foster relationships with employees, union and management; understand labor agreements.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve ergonomic, health and safety objectives.
• Motivate and develop employees; ensure JIT training.
• Achieve schedules and product requirements via lean principles and variation reduction.
• Coach and mentor Group Leaders.

• As a Global Supply Chain Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment. Participates in training, developing and evaluating hourly team members.
• Participates in the development of highly effective teams. Leads Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
• Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements. Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues.
• Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between us and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
• Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
• Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
• Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.
• Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED Required; Associates or Bachelors preferred
• 3-5 years of supervisor/leadership experience

Top 3 must-have hard skills:

• Strong material-flow and inventory management skills, including replenishment, FIFO, and responding to shortages so production stays supplied.
• Practical problem-solving and production support skills, including investigating issues, coordinating with partner teams, and escalating quickly when production may be affected.
• A solid foundation in safety, quality, and standardized work, including the ability to reinforce safe work practices, verify process adherence, and support corrective actions
