Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Team Lead for the Press department on the 1st shift (Mon-Fri 6:00am–2:30pm; OT as needed). You will assign work, monitor progress, enforce PPE and safety, and back up the supervisor when absent. Training, scheduling, and SAP documentation are key parts of the role.

You will lead production to meet schedules, ensure quality, and coordinate with other departments while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Internal Candidates: must be in good standing (no more than 1 active disciplinary write-up and no more than 1 attendance point).
  • SAP experience preferred or the ability to learn SAP.
  • Office 365 experience preferred or ability to learn Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production line to ensure product is produced according to schedule.
  • Assign work, monitor progress, and enforce PPE and safety rules.
  • Serve as backup for the supervisor in their absence; train new associates on processes.
  • Review production paperwork for accuracy and complete confirmations in SAP.
  • Coordinate with other departments and maintain housekeeping and safe work areas.
  • Provide timely feedback to supervisor on employee performance and opportunities for improvement.

Job description

The team lead- Press is responsible for all daily lead duties for the press team. This includes assigning work, monitoring progress, enforcing PPE and safety, directing and redirecting employees, and serving as a backup for the supervisor in the event of their absence. The team lead will also be able to back up the process technician as needed

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm with OT as needed (during the week and weekends)

  • Understanding of the Press processes and procedures and ability to run the press, trouble shoot at least minor press issues as well as serve as back up for the process technician as needed.
  • Capable of training new associates on processes and procedures.
  • Leading the production line to ensure product is produced according to schedule.
  • Providing work assignments, daily production paperwork, and monitoring progress of production staff throughout the day or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Verify production paperwork is completed and accurate.
  • Complete confirmations in SAP
  • View and Understand planned schedule
  • Print Work Orders
  • Complete and email pass down notes, end of shift reports and effectivity sheet.
  • Ensure work areas are kept free of unnecessary objects, and housekeeping is acceptable.
  • Redirect employees that are out of area or off task.
  • Replenish consumables as needed.
  • Assist supervisor with monitoring employees that are leaving for and/or returning from break early/late.
  • Provide honest, accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding employee performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead by example, must follow all policies and procedures as well as ensuring the team is following them. Reporting to the supervisor as needed.
  • Capable of holding the pre-shift/tier 1 meeting when needed.
  • Monitor and address quality of parts produced by casters. Assist them in resolving any issues. Retraining as needed.
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements as well as ensure the team follows all safety guidelines and requirements.
  • Other job-related task assigned by the supervisor.
