Job summary

The Arc of Somerset County is seeking a Group Home Manager - Residential Services in Hillsborough, NJ to oversee the residence and staff, coordinate resident programming, and liaise with families and community partners. Responsibilities include coordinating supports, health and safety management, and reporting in line with DDD standards.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, one year of direct service experience with developmentally disabled individuals, and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison and coordinator for consumer involvement in support groups, self-advocacy and programming.
• Fosters open communication with families, DDD, guardians and community agencies.
• Oversees all consumer medical, medication and health issues.
• Monitors staff performance and conducts reviews and development plans.
• Ensures operational practices align with DDD standards.
• Ensures completion of required reports and coordinates program financial procedures.
• Oversee maintenance of the physical plant and vehicles, ensuring safety and OSHA compliance.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

A Group Home Manager @ The Arc of Somerset CountyManages all operations and activities of the Residence including staff supervision, acts as agency/community liaison, directs resident training and programming, and facilities family support, etc.

Eligibility requirements: Valid NJ, NY, PA Driver’s license

Required degrees, skills, or experience:

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• One year experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled persons is required.
• One year of staff supervisory experience in a disability service provision setting is required.
• Experience in a community residential setting is required

Key roles and responsibilities(include, but not limited to):

• Acts as liaison, advocate and coordinator for consumer involvement in support groups, self-advocacy, vocational programming, transportation services, integrated community activities, recreation and learning independent living skills.
• Fosters open and supportive communication with consumers, families, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Bureau of Guardianship Services and other community organizations and agencies.
• Oversees all consumer medical, medication and health issues.
• Monitor all staff performance management, including performance reviews and developmental plans, disciplinary actions, etc., for all program staff as scheduled.
• Ensure operational practices align with DDD standards.
• Ensure completion/submission of all required daily, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as scheduled.
• Coordinate all aspects of program financial procedures including monitoring of utility use in accordance with agency and DDD's policies.
• Oversee maintenance of the physical plant and vehicles to include cleanliness, decor, safety issues, emergency situations; practice preventive maintenance; ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by supervisor.
