Job summary

Pathfinder in Plymouth, IN is seeking a Group Home Manager to help run and support group homes for people with disabilities. You will ensure people we support are safe, happy, and able to make their own choices, and you will help teach and support staff who work in the homes.

As a Group Home Manager, you will lead care planning, supervise staff, coordinate services with nurses, case managers, and families, and promote independence, inclusion, and stable routines for residents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • Prefer 2 years experience in the field of Human Services.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
  • Crisis prevention, intervention, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, read, and hear the English language.
  • Essential physical skills: run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull against resistance.

Responsibilities

  • Help people attend appointments, take medicine correctly, and do fun activities.

  • Fill in and help in the homes if needed.
  • Write down important information about each person’s day, goals, and progress.
  • Ensure all paperwork is done correctly and on time.
  • Keep track of home repairs and help ensure the home stays safe and clean.
  • Work with nurses, case managers, and families to ensure everyone is updated.
  • Attend meetings about the people we support.
  • Talk with family members and answer questions they may have.
  • Help people handle their money, buy things they need, and plan for the future.
  • Be on-call sometimes to help with emergencies or fill in if someone is sick.
