Job summary

VASA Fitness is seeking a Group Fitness Team Lead in Chandler, AZ to oversee the group fitness program, manage class schedules, and develop instructors into high-energy, inclusive coaches.

You'll collaborate with other team leads and the General Manager to grow attendance, ensure safety, and deliver community-driven classes. A nationally accredited certification and CPR/AED are required; leadership experience preferred but training is provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching group fitness, small group training, or boutique fitness classes (experience in specialty studios preferred).
• Nationally accredited Group Fitness Certification required (recently expired certifications may be renewed within 30 days of hire).
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience leading, coaching, teaching, or performing in front of groups.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• General knowledge of kinesiology, exercise science, and physical fitness.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Passion for fitness, community, and helping others reach their goals.
• Experience with Les Mills or other structured fitness formats is a plus.
• Required to work 8-10 hours per week in a customer facing Front Desk role, including welcoming members and guests, conducting club tours, processing POS transactions, booking classes, answering questions, and promoting VASA programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Group Fitness program in your club, manage class schedules, develop instructors.
• Ensure programming is high-energy, safe, and inclusive for all fitness levels.
• Help members and guests receive an exceptional experience through classes that are fun, effective, and community-driven.
• Collaborate with other team leads and the General Manager to grow class attendance and maximize group fitness usage.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Group Fitness Instructors.
• Maintain rooms and equipment, ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Execute playbooks, marketing initiatives, and programming standards.
• Create a culture of enthusiasm, accountability, and connection within your team.
• Provide Front Desk support 8-10 hours per week: welcome members, conduct tours, process POS, promote programs.
