Job summary

YMCA of the Chesapeake is looking for a part-time group fitness instructor at Caroline Family YMCA in Denton, MD. In this role you will lead group wellness classes, ensuring safety and engagement per YMCA policies.

You will hold CPR/First Aid/AED and specialized group fitness certifications and work to promote member wellbeing. The position requires current certifications and may require completing YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• National group fitness certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) or YMCA Foundations in group exercise.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 90 days of hire.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs group fitness classes in a safe, enjoyable environment per YMCA policies.
• Promotes member wellness and engagement during classes.
• Lead classes during day shifts and adapt plans to class size and participant needs.
