Job summary

YMCA of Western North Carolina seeks an energetic Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging classes at the Hendersonville location. You will deliver safe, effective wellness sessions for members and guests, upholding YMCA standards and guiding participants of varying abilities.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, promoting class participation, and supporting wellness events within the branch community. CPR/AED/First Aid certifications are required and ongoing CEUs are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must maintain current certifications listed, including group exercise certification and safety qualifications.
• CPR, AED, First Aid and related certifications must be active.
• Able to conduct safe, engaging group exercise classes.

Responsibilities

• Teaches and leads group exercise classes to recruit new members and retain existing members.
• Maintains fitness equipment, rooms, and storage areas.
• Demonstrates proper fitness components: warm-up, cardio, flexibility, cool down.
• Provides a safe and enjoyable environment and promotes class participation.
• Covers shifts and documents attendance.
• Ensures YMCA policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintains CEUs/certifications.
• Assists with wellness events as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
