Job summary

Lorain County Metro Parks in Amherst, Ohio is seeking an energetic independent contractor to lead group fitness and related classes. You will motivate participants, ensure safety, and help with setup and cleanup while maintaining positive member relations.

A high school diploma or GED is required; certifications such as Personal Training and Group Exercise Instructor are helpful. Pay is $15.00–$30.00 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Leads fitness and/or related classes.
• Communicates and enforces HealthPlex policies and procedures as they relate to group fitness.
• Ensures participants are performing exercises safely.
• Assists in set‑up and clean‑up of fitness programs.
• Trains participants in a manner that is both demonstrative and professional.
• Takes attendance of class each time it is held.
• Fills out the timecard accordingly.
• Finds substitutes for sickness or vacations and is willing to help sub for others.
• Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance.
• Communicates needs, issues and concerns to the Facility Coordinator.
