  • UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.

Responsibilities

  • Greets each user who enters the group fitness area with an enthusiastic attitude and ensures they get to know the individual by name
  • Presents a well planned, energetic, entertaining, effective and safe group fitness experience whenever they participate in a class
  • Monitors user exercise response and makes adjustments as necessary
  • Provides support by properly maintaining the group fitness area to ensure functionality and safety
  • Promotes the facility's services and offerings to class participants
  • Attends all regularly scheduled staff meetings and participates in required training

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Teaching experience should include classes similar to those to be instructed
  • Current certification as a group fitness instructor or leader from a national fitness organization required within 90 days of employment
  • CPR and AED certification

Preferred Job Requirements

  • 6 months of experience or 200 hours as a group fitness instructor
