Job summary

YMCA of East Tennessee seeks a group wellness instructor to lead safe, energetic classes in the studio on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. You will promote member wellness, connect with participants, and model the Y’s core values in daily practice.

The role requires at least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes; current CPR and First Aid and relevant certifications are required at hire and maintained thereafter. Training and safety protocols are emphasized.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirements.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.
• Area(s) of expertise certifications and training required.

Responsibilities

• Safely leads energizing, fun, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and promotes participation in Y programs.
• Answers questions and supports members in healthy living goals.
• Follows Y policies and safety procedures; completes incident and accident reports as needed.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records and manages audio/studio equipment storage.
• Other duties as assigned.
