Job summary

Equinox River Oaks is seeking Main Studio Instructors for Barre, Cycling and Athletic Conditioning. Responsibilities include delivering the Equinox Experience, adjusting intensity for participants, maintaining class flow, and coordinating with the Group Fitness Manager on feedback and equipment needs.

Qualified candidates hold a current group fitness certification (ACE/AFAA/NASM/ACSM) and CPR/AED. A related degree is strongly preferred, with a friendly, energetic demeanor essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable) or
• Degree in a related field strongly recommended;
• Must possess and maintain CPR/AED certification;
• Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and ACSM guidelines;
• Eagerness to learn and pursue professional development;
• Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing personality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in each class.
• Adhere to class descriptions and modify intensity as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout class duration.
• Ensure classes begin and end on time.
• Teach classes regularly and minimize substitutions.
• Communicate member feedback, equipment status, and scheduling to Group Fitness Manager.

Job Description

Equinox River Oaks is currently seeking Main Studio Instructors, including but not limited to Barre, Cycling, Athletic Conditioning. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may additionally be presented along the course of employment:

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;


• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;


• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;


• Ensure class begins and ends on time;


• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;


• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing;

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

• Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable) or


• Degree in a related field strongly recommended;


• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;


• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode;


• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;


• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing;
