Position Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor provides engaging group fitness instruction through a variety of classes that promote fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment. They serve as a fitness resource for participants, maintain positive relationships with members to encourage continued attendance, and promote Life Time programs, products, and services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching challenging and entertaining classes.
2. Educate participants on correct form and modifications.
3. Engage with members before and after classes, answer questions.
4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio space.
5. Provide motivating music that is appropriate and engaging.
6. Promote Life Time promotions, programs, and services, encouraging class participation.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of fitness instruction experience
• CPR/AED Certification
• Group Exercise Certification (NASM, ACE, AFAA, AEA)
• Ability to perform aerobic activities for the duration of a class, including standing, walking, climbing, etc.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely and occasionally 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform exercises specific to the class.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay ranges from $40 to $75 per class, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include a subsidized membership, discounts, 401(k), training, paid sick leave, and for full-time staff, additional health and retirement benefits.
