The Maplewood YMCA is seeking certified Group Fitness Instructors! Opportunities available in a variety of class formats including strength and cardio, water exercise, ForeverWell, MOSSA (such as Group Active, Group Blast, Group Fight, Group Power), Les Mills (such as BodyPump, BodyCombat, BodyStep), Yoga, Pilates, Dance and more. Flexible schedule, career development and training opportunity, free Y membership and more! Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor Certification required.
The salary for this position starts at $16.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Group Fitness Instructor instructs quality group fitness classes, provides excellent customer service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

This position reports to the Program Manager who reports to the Director of Healthy Living. The incumbent works closely with the other PT instructors, supervisor, member services, and building/maintenance staff. The incumbent should address members by name and encourage participation in activities.
