Responsibilities

• The group fitness instructor is responsible for creating a positive member experience by providing a superior level of customer service and cleanliness to wellness members, prospective members, and guests. This position will assist members' requests, inquiries about gym operations and policies, and instruct water aerobics classes as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Responsible for light clerical duties as necessary. Also, as a rehab team member, encourages and promotes health among wellness members and patients.

• Communication: Exhibits exceptional customer service skills; interacts positively and professionally with members and co-workers; assists and educates members during workouts; informs members if exercises are performed incorrectly; maintains confidentiality.
• Member Safety: Demonstrates, reviews, and corrects exercise or equipment use; determines appropriate adjustments and suggests weights and reps; monitors members and maintains presence during open hours, using PPE as necessary.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensures cleanliness of the facility, including disinfecting equipment and maintaining supplies; reports environmental issues to the Supervisor.
• Clerical Responsibilities: Handles basic data entry, assists with registration, monitors check-ins, processes transactions, and performs other clerical duties as needed.
• Professional Growth: Attends departmental and hospital education programs; maintains BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Required Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS (can be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training: NA.
