Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

The Castle Hill YMCA is seeking Group Exercise Instructors to design and deliver safe, fun, dynamic, and effective group exercise classes, while also providing outstanding hospitality to ensure a positive user experience.

We are currently hiring Instructors for the following programs: Aqua Aerobics, Spinning, and Strength Training.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests.
  2. Arrive prior to class start time to allow time to greet all participants and help acclimate new participants.
  3. Responsible for participant safety – inspect the floors, equipment, and supplies. Notify the supervisor of equipment in need of repair and/or the need for more/updated equipment.
  4. Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership of the YMCA.
  5. Modify classes and routines according to participants’ fitness levels/abilities, as needed.
  6. Maintain awareness of current fitness programs and trends.
  7. Maintain required certifications.
  8. Plan and provide appropriate and motivating music for classes.
  9. Support community and promotional special events as needed.
  10. Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action in emergency situations.
  11. Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Experience leading fitness classes.
  3. Ability to relate to and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  4. Current CPR/AED certifications.
  5. Current National Group Exercise certifications (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or YMCA).
  6. Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
  7. Must be available to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends.
