Job summary

Treasure Valley Family YMCA in Boise, Idaho seeks a Group Exercise Coordinator to foster a welcoming environment for members while developing and managing high‑quality health and well‑being programs. This role supervises staff and volunteers and ensures safety and quality across all group exercise offerings.

The position is full-time (40 hours) with benefits, requiring a Bachelor’s in health and fitness, national certification, and experience teaching group exercise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health and fitness or equivalent experience.
• National certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NETA, CrossFit, or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise) is required.
• Experience teaching group exercise, minimum one year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Use the class platform to educate participants about Y programs.
• Conduct classes in a quality, safe, and engaging manner to boost attendance.
• Identify participants needing additional support, including new members and health seekers.
• Monitor and ensure participant safety and well‑being.
• Collaborate with the Director to align operations with Leading Practices.
• Supervise Group Exercise staff including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and scheduling.
• Recruit and manage volunteers as needed.
