Job summary

A Plus Tree in Kent, Washington is hiring a Groundsperson to support climbers, operate equipment, and keep job sites safe and efficient. No prior experience required; safety, work ethic, and the drive to grow are valued.

You'll work outdoors year-round, follow all safety protocols, and have opportunities to advance to crew roles. The role offers health and retirement benefits and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must commit to safety in attitude, behavior, and daily practice.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking – a true team player.
• Able to lift 75+ lbs and perform heavy manual outdoor labor.
• Able to work near energized power lines and hazards.
• Valid U.S. driver's license; 18+ (21+ to operate company vehicles).
• Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols, ANSI Z133 standards, and PPE requirements on every job.
• Participate in daily pre-job safety briefings; communicate hazards to crew leader.
• Assist climbers with gear preparation, rigging and lowering branches.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, weed eaters, pole trimmers, blowers; assist with aerial lifts.
• Clear brush and debris; perform site clearing and debris removal.
• Work near energized power lines per safety protocols.
• Inspect trucks and equipment; perform trailer hauling as needed.
• Assist with tree planting and vegetation management as assigned.
• Maintain pace with crew; arrive on time and ready for duty.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
