Job summary

Lewis Tree Service in Florida is seeking a Groundperson to support vegetation management for utility partners and other customers. You’ll join our outdoor crews, assisting with pruning, debris removal, and equipment operation while embracing safety protocols.This role offers hands-on training, opportunities for advancement, frequent travel to sites, and eligibility for our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Previous groundperson certification or CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Groundperson certification (or ability to complete).
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and hike, lift 50 lbs, and handle tools.
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification provided by Lewis; Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete).
• Team player attitude, adaptability and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation and debris from work sites around power lines.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Assist climbers by spotting from the ground and handing up tools.
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees.
• Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards at the work area.
• Travel frequently to different job sites (overnight stays).
• Participate in safety briefings and follow company safety protocols.
