Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a Planting Crew member to install trees and plants, following landscape plans and safety protocols. You will plant trees and shrubs, help with loading and unloading materials, and maintain clean, organized work areas.

You will work with a team to ensure accurate plant placement, proper fertilization, and adherence to Blue Stake guidelines. The role requires outdoor work and flexibility to work any day.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform manual labor.
• Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or related field preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plant trees, shrubs, and other plants according to landscape plans and specifications.
• Ensure proper fertilization and planting techniques to promote healthy growth.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks.
• Assist with loading/unloading plants, tools, and equipment, ensuring accurate counts.
• Use PPE properly to maintain safety on site.
• Understand Blue Stake/811 colors to prevent underground utility damage.
• Be available to work any day of the week.

Job SummaryAs a member of the Planting Crew at Moon Valley Nurseries, you will play a vital role in the process of installing trees and plants for our customers. Your responsibilities will include planting trees and shrubs according to specifications, ensuring proper spacing and alignment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will work closely with our team to deliver exceptional service and exceed customer expectations.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlant trees, shrubs, and other plants according to landscape plans and specifications.Ensure proper fertilization and planting techniques are followed to promote healthy growth and longevity of plants.Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and complete projects on time.Assist with loading and unloading plants, tools, equipment and any other equipment needed for the day's tasks, ensuring accurate counts and proper weight distribution.Ensure the proper use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and any other necessary protective gear to maintain personal safety.Understand and recognize the significance of Blue Stake/811 colors at job sites to prevent damage to underground utilities and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleaguesDemonstrated availability to work any day of the week.Other duties and tasks as assigned.Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform manual labor.Previous experience in landscaping, horticulture, or a related field is preferred but not requiredPrevious experience with operating power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred.Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred.Physical requirements/Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers and vendors.
