Joshua Tree Experts in North Dallas is seeking a Tree Care Groundsman to support a 2–4 person crew in removal, pruning, stump grinding and chipper operations. The role emphasizes safety, communication, and customer service as climbers work aloft.

This entry-to-early-career position offers hands-on learning and growth within a professional tree care team. Responsibilities include equipment prep, safe drop zones, and timely, reliable work.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in tree care operations.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and work 40+ hours per week.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation.
• Ensure drop zones are safe for coworkers and the public.
• Perform pruning and reduction tasks as directed.
• Safely operate tree-care equipment (gas saws, pole saws, chippers).
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris.
• Report to work on time and follow crew leaders’ directions.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Maintain and service equipment as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and set up traffic control at sites.

Grow with us! Joshua Tree Experts in North Dallas is a premier team of tree care professionals, is searching for an experienced Tree Care Groundsman.

The Groundsman works alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations. They are responsible for all communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.

Groundsmen are essential to how our crews function day to day. This is a hands‑on entry‑to‑early‑career role for someone who wants to learn the trade, work hard, and grow within a professional tree care team.

What a Tree Care Groundsman does:

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily
• Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and public
• Perform pruning and reducing
• Safely use tree care operations equipment included but not limited to gas powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippers
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debris
• Reports to work on time each day
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers
• Maintain professional image
• Provide friendly and excellent customer service
• Maintain and service equipment, as needed
• Follows safety culture and safety procedures
• Set up safety and traffic control measures for job sites

What do you need to be a Tree Care Groundsman:

• Minimum of two years of experience in Tree Care Operations
• Valid driver's license
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to work 40 hours or more each week
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively
• First Aid and CPR Certified is a plus
