Job summary

Rotolo Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Groundskeeping Laborer to provide landscape maintenance for industrial, commercial, and public properties. You will operate commercial landscaping equipment and maintain plant material and landscaping elements.

The role requires basic landscape experience, familiarization with tools such as mowers and trimmers, and a valid driver’s license is a plus. Compensation includes benefits and a 401K with a partial employer match.

Qualifications

• Background checks may be required and must be completed.
• Previous experience in landscape or a similar industry.
• Knowledge and ability to use landscape-related tools (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
• Horticulture knowledge and standards of pruning, planting, digging, and mulching.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, snowblowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming around beds, walks, or walls.
• Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruning saws, and hedge trimmers.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using appropriate tools.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
• Follow planned landscaping designs for sod, sow grass, or plant flowers.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowers, grass, and apply mulch.

AS A GROUNDSKEEPING LABORER

You will create beautiful environments by providing landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. You will safely operate commercial-grade landscaping equipment and ensure the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.

GROUNDSKEEPING LABORER DUTIES INCLUDE

• Operating vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snowblowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Caring for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
• Using hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
• Pruning or trimming trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gathering and removing litter.
• Raking, mulching, and composting leaves.
• Following planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage.
• Planting seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.

QUALIFICATIONS WE LOOK FOR

• Many of our clients in this area require background checks. Candidates must be able to complete this process.
• Previous experience in landscape or similar industry.
• Knowledge and ability to use landscape-related tools (i.e. mowers, trimmers, blowers. etc.)
• Horticulture knowledge and standards of pruning, planting, digging, and mulching.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are a plus.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS

• $17.50/hour
