Job summary

FirstService Residential in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Groundskeeper and pool attendant to oversee the pool area, make safety announcements, and maintain the building and grounds for guest comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include mowing, debris removal, equipment care, assisting with poolside activities, reporting incidents, and ensuring a welcoming, service‑oriented environment for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Must have experience using handheld tools such as weed cutter, push lawn mower, hedge trimmer, edger, leaf vacuum, blower and others.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Must comply with OSHA and EPA guidelines concerning storage and use of chemical substances.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

• May be required to assist in the loading and unloading of supplies, equipment and/or merchandise.

• Assists with set up and breakdown for poolside activities as needed.
• Must be able to submit and report incidents to the appropriate manager.
• Must be service oriented.
• Picks up debris from the pool and possesses basic cleaning skills.
• Checks sports equipment to make sure it is in order for guest to use.
• Reports broken sports equipment to the manager so that replacement equipment can be ordered.

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm (Fri & Sat OFF)

Job Overview

As a Groundskeeper & pool attendant you'll be responsible for overseeing the pool area, making safety announcements and maintaining an inventory of all poolside equipment to be always available for guest use and for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the building/facility.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3ft)
• Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain)
• Walk and climb stairs
• Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
• Reach with hands and arms
• Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions
• Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers
