Job summary

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain our resort grounds, buildings, pool area, and landscaping while delivering friendly customer service to residents and guests.

You will mow, trim, plant, power wash, and assist with propane as needed; a high school diploma and 1 year groundskeeping experience are required; weekend availability and commuting distance are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to communicate in English with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility grounds including mowing, trimming, planting, and debris removal.
• Report maintenance concerns to management.
• Upkeep of buildings, sidewalks, pool area, and common spaces; painting and power washing as needed.
• Dispense propane and assist with rental unit upkeep as required.
• Support other duties and special projects as assigned.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina (formerly Pontchartrain Landing) is a high-end, gated RV resort and marina with villas for rent, restaurant and bar and guest lodge in a marina setting located 12 minutes from New Orleans French Quarter. The Resort and Marina is operated by Applebrook Homes, LLC.

About the Job:

The Groundskeeper is primarily responsible for performing a variety of landscaping maintenance duties such as mow lawns, plant flowers, remove debris from property grounds, and ensure our communities are well maintained and look presentable while delivering quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the facility grounds including cleanliness and maintenance to company expectations.
• Report maintenance and/or grounds concerns to management.
• Mow lawns, treat weeds, trim trees and hedges, and general landscaping as requested by management.
• Upkeep of onsite buildings, sidewalks, and pool area (when applicable) including painting and power washing.
• Collecting yard waste, trash/debris, cleaning building facilities, and emptying common area trash containers.
• Maintain swimming pool and pool area.
• Dispense propane as needed.
• Maintain company-owned rental units (cleaning and repairing as needed).
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• At least 1 year of groundskeeping experience, required.
• Customer Service Experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and co-workers.
• Motivation and dedication to serving customers and a job well done.
• Proficient with various hand tools and power equipment.
• Must be within commuting distance from the property.

Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically | Able to work in changing environmental conditions throughout the year, as majority of work activities occur outside | Safely able to handle and utilize necessary equipment for the role | Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 40 pounds.
