• District: Red Clay Consolidated School District

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primary responsibility is to operate the large tractor – cutting grass, etc. Maintenance C/Groundskeeper may at times be assigned minor maintenance work which they would handle independently.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in the maintenance of grounds with primary responsibilities of operating the large tractor, cutting grass, etc.
2. Handles requests as assigned by their supervisor or his designee.
3. Operates equipment as required.
4. Other related duties as assigned including but not limited to the groundskeeper.
5. Custodial duties as assigned by their supervisor.
6. Employees who are identified as groundskeepers shall work in the position twelve (12) months annually at the Maintenance C rate and shall be considered a part of the central snow removal team.
7. Groundskeepers are also to assist in the preparation of the fields for athletic events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated ability in the previous job to perform a range of general maintenance and grounds duties.
2. Custodial certificate (60/90 hours) or in the process of obtaining.
3. Physical ability to perform the above duties.
4. Four years of custodial experience in the District is desirable.

Positions in our facilities department require physical activity. Prospective employees are encouraged to check with their medical provider to ensure they are able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

These physical requirements include:

• A tolerance for repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching overhead
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor to 36\" shelf and 40 lbs. to shoulder height
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb a 6 ft. ladder
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift when necessary
• Ability to operate machinery

The district reserves the right to review and adjust the physical requirements for the position as needed and will communicate changes to employees. The district will follow all procedures and policies in accordance with the Leave Office regarding fit for duty examinations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month year. Salary and Benefits in accordance with negotiated Agreement. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Evaluation Procedure of the District.
