Job summary

State of Florida is seeking a Groundskeeper in Lake City, FL for a Career Service position. The incumbent performs landscaping, trash removal, and related manual labor to maintain exteriors, parking areas, and drives at state facilities.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, raking, planting, pruning, and assisting with loading and unloading materials. A background check and drug test are required; a valid Florida driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Willing to work in Lake City, FL.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug test.
• Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides.
• Proficient and safe use of manual and power tools.
• Commercial lawn care experience.

Responsibilities

• Ground maintenance to include mowing, edging, raking and watering lawn.
• Collect and haul debris.
• Maintain flowerbeds through weeding and seasonal planting.
• Prune trees and shrubs.
• Ensure parking areas, walkways and driveways are maintained.
• Pick up trash.
• Assist in loading and unloading furniture, equipment and supplies delivered to the facility.
• Other related duties as required by supervisor.
