Florida Department of Military Affairs is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain base lawns, shrubs, and trees, ensuring proper mowing heights and edging. The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with grounds maintenance equipment.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and may need pre-employment drug screening and background checks. State benefits include health, life, and tuition waivers, with monthly pay and direct deposit.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AND one year landscaping/grounds experience.
• Must be able to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background checks may be required.
• State-wide employment with Florida Department challenging grounds upkeep and base facilities.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain base lawns, shrubs, and trees with specified cutting heights.
• Maintain field areas and ditch lines to keep within required lengths.
• Edge sidewalks/curb areas monthly during growing season.
• Trim hedges and shrubs monthly; assess tree shaping needs.
• Maintain and repair mowing and edging equipment; coordinate with State Supervisor for major repairs.
• Keep restrooms clean and stocked; sanitize surfaces and floors.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other state employees.
