Job summary

Tohono O’odham Nation is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain hospital and clinic landscaping and outdoor areas at TON Health Care in Tucson. The role requires performing lawn care, irrigation, pest control, and equipment operation while ensuring safe, clean grounds for staff, patients, and visitors.

Temporary relocation may be needed to Sells Hospital and other TON facilities as requested. You will work under supervision to support maintenance tasks, perform setup for meetings, and assist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of groundskeeping or outside laborer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains landscaping by trimming and pruning trees and shrubs, repairing fences, sweeping sidewalks, repairing irrigation systems, controlling weeds, watering, and cutting lawns.
• Prepare soil and plants, trees, and vegetation.
• Perform clean-up duties of entire premises on a routine basis.
• Perform functions such as transplanting, essential pest control, pruning and trimming, and other landscaping duties.
• Maintains, repairs, and operates irrigation/sprinkler systems.
• Relines rocks on walking trails.
• Operates and maintains heavy equipment and power tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Ensure grounds and landscaping are safe for employees, patients, and visitors; remove hazards.
• Sprays lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides.
• Cleans and removes materials and debris from work areas.
• Check water softener and propane levels; notify supervisor when running low.
• Assist with maintenance projects and setup/teardown of facilities as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and maintain required reports.
