Qualifications

• One year of groundskeeping or gardening experience related to the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance: sweep walks and parking areas, pick up papers and rubbish, rake leaves and weed.
• Troubleshoot and maintain irrigation systems; install and repair clocks, valves, heads and lines; schedule irrigation.
• Plant, cultivate and care for lawns, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and flowers.
• Prune trees, resod and repair lawns and playing areas; mix soils and compost for shrub beds and grass.
• Mix and apply pesticides using hand-operated and power-driven sprayers; maintain athletic fields.
• Burn and mark lines for athletic contests; assist in setups for athletic events and community activities.
• Assist in installation of sign posts, benches, parking bumpers and security gates.
• Operate and service equipment including power sweeper, lawn mower, gang mower, rototiller, trenching machine, front-end loaders and forklift.
• Drive trucks, tractors; oversee temporary employees assigned to groundskeeping; assist Grounds Maintenance Technicians.
