Job summary

Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC is seeking a Gardener in Ridgecrest, CA to provide general gardening and groundskeeping for government contracts. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, pruning, debris removal, and maintaining grounds and irrigation systems.

The role requires operating small equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adhering to safety protocols. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be able to drive manual shift equipment up to a two-ton truck.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools including shovels, rakes, lawn rollers, pruning saws and sheers, hand mowers, hula hoes, etc.
• Ability to comply with all safety requirements and wear PPE at all times.
• Alutiiq maintains a professional work environment and prohibits harassment.
• Ability to comply with all instruction and direction.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Applicant must pass background investigation for the company and base.
• Must have a valid state driver's license.
• Alutiiq maintains a drug/alcohol free workplace; must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be able to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, fertilize, prune, remove debris and weeds; stake trees and maintain berms.
• Maintain improved and semi-improved grounds.
• Build and maintain irrigation systems including valves, backflow preventers and sprinklers.
• Operate motorized equipment such as tractors, weed eaters and chainsaws as required.
• Possibly travel to outlying areas.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
