The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Groundskeeper at the Women’s Community Correctional Center in Hawaii. The role involves supervising and participating in grounds maintenance activities.

Supervises and participates in performing a variety of manual work in groundskeeping. Supervises the work of a crew in cleaning, caring for and maintaining landscaped grounds and adjacent areas; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Experience and Training: Two years of full‑time work experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and other landscaped areas, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Knowledge of Care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees, lawns; use, care, and operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as power mowers, edgers, trimmers, and hand tools.
Ability to Assign and supervise the work of others; keep time and attendance records; gain cooperation of others; understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate and use grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools; perform lifting, carrying and other manual work typical of the class.
Driver’s License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
Other Requirements: Applicants who are conditionally offered employment or conditionally approved for movement into positions with the Department of Public Safety shall be subject to drug screening, as required by federal, state or local laws or departmental policy; and will be subject to an intensive background check.
