Job summary

Montana Technological University seeks a Groundskeeper II to maintain campus grounds, perform landscaping, snow removal, and irrigation repairs; requires 2+ years experience in large grounds settings.

The role may lead the Grounds crew in the absence of the Grounds Manager and requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and pesticide license within 4 months of appointment; a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of pest management practices and procedures, including weed management.
• Must obtain pesticide license within 4 months of award and maintain it year to year.

Responsibilities

• General campus grounds cleaning and maintenance; snow removal and sanding of sidewalks and streets; fertilizing, mowing, weed eating, watering, maintaining sprinkler systems, turf maintenance, pruning, planting, weeding, aerating, power raking, blowing out sprinkler systems and trash removal.
• Keeping all equipment in good running condition for each season; moving office furniture and equipment; graduation setup; assist in directing the work of student assistants; lead Grounds crew in absence of Grounds Manager.
