Job summary

The City of High Point is hiring a Groundskeeper responsible for performing grounds maintenance. Starting pay is $17.19 per hour, with tasks including mowing, trimming, and maintaining the golf course.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of experience, and a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Benefits include a guaranteed pension after 5 years, 401(k) plans, paid holidays, and competitive healthcare plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with trade tools and equipment.
• Understanding of local, state, federal safety regulations and OSHA.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Clear vision and hearing as required for equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance under supervision.
• Mow, edge, prune, trim, and treat grass and plants.
• Operate tractors and equipment for maintenance.
• Weed, mulch, prepare plant beds.
• Assist with irrigation repairs.

Skills

Experience with trade tools and equipment

Understanding of safety regulations and OSHA

Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Vision and hearing requirements for equipment operation
