Rocking Horse Ranch Resort in Highland, NY is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain resort grounds, plant beds, lawns and walkways, and to assist with winter operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience with tractor driving, snow plowing, and/or other heavy equipment.
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Ability to observe and analyze safety situations and determine appropriate course of action.
• Ability to work night shifts and weekends/holidays.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clears walkways and main driveway before opening.
• Water flowers, trees, grasses, shrubs and lawns daily.
• Maintain appearance of plant material by feeding, deadheading, pruning.
• Upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, flower beds and other grounds features.
• Cares for lawns by mowing, trimming and edging.
• Operates gas-powered equipment (blowers, mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, weed-eaters, pressure washers).
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment.
• Organizes the grounds storage area for tools and materials.
• Snow removal and maintenance of Winter Fun Park including snow-making equipment setup and breakdown.

Job Details: Job Location: Rocking Horse Ranch - Highland , NY, Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00Hourly

Groundskeepers at Rocking Horse Ranch are responsible for maintaining the overall resort appearance. This position focuses on a wide variety of projects relating to landscaping, planting, cultivating, irrigation, pruning, mulching, and weeding and lawn maintenance, as well as snow removal/winter operations. Equipment operator experience preferred, and snow removal experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clears off walkways and main driveway prior to opening.
• Water flowers, trees, grasses, shrubs and lawns daily.
• Maintain overall appearance of plant material by feeding, deadheading and pruning frequently.
• Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, flower beds and other grounds features.
• Cares for established lawns by mowing, trimming and edging around flower beds, walkways and walls.
• Operates gas-powered equipment that includes blowers, lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, weed-eaters and pressure washers.
• Performs regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools.
• Organizes the grounds storage unit of tools, materials and equipment.
• Snow removal efforts and maintain the appearance of Winter Fun Park, including the set up, maintenance, and breakdown of snow making equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to work hard in a harsh, cold environment for extended period of time
• Must be willing to work night shifts
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced team environment as well as work independently.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
