Job summary

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain our resort grounds and support a high standard of guest service. The role involves mowing, planting, debris removal, and upkeep of pool areas and facilities in a gated, high-end community just minutes from the French Quarter.

Responsibilities include landscaping, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of groundskeeping experience.
• Customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be within commuting distance of the property.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds and ensure cleanliness.
• Mow lawns, trim trees/hedges, control weeds, and perform landscaping as directed.
• Upkeep of buildings, sidewalks, and pool area; perform painting and power washing as needed.
• Collect yard waste and manage trash in common areas.
• Maintain pool area and dispense propane as required.
• Care for rental units including cleaning and basic repairs.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina (formerly Pontchartrain Landing) is a high-end, gated RV resort and marina with villas for rent, restaurant and bar and guest lodge in a marina setting located 12 minutes from New Orleans French Quarter. The Resort and Marina is operated by Applebrook Homes, LLC.

About the Job:

The Groundskeeper is primarily responsible for performing a variety of landscaping maintenance duties such as mow lawns, plant flowers, remove debris from property grounds, and ensure our communities are well maintained and look presentable while delivering quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the facility grounds including cleanliness and maintenance to company expectations.
• Report maintenance and/or grounds concerns to management.
• Mow lawns, treat weeds, trim trees and hedges, and general landscaping as requested by management.
• Upkeep of onsite buildings, sidewalks, and pool area (when applicable) including painting and power washing.
• Collecting yard waste, trash/debris, cleaning building facilities, and emptying common area trash containers.
• Maintain swimming pool and pool area.
• Dispense propane as needed.
• Maintain company-owned rental units (cleaning and repairing as needed).
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• At least 1 year of groundskeeping experience, required.
• Customer Service Experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and co-workers.
• Motivation and dedication to serving customers and a job well done.
• Proficient with various hand tools and power equipment.
• Must be within commuting distance from the property.

Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically | Able to work in changing environmental conditions throughout the year, as majority of work activities occur outside | Safely able to handle and utilize necessary equipment for the role | Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 40 pounds.
