SSC Services For Education is seeking a Full‑time Groundskeeper for Murray State University. This role involves providing landscaping and grounds maintenance, including duties like mowing, weeding, trimming bushes, and general janitorial tasks.

• Valid non‑CDL Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service by providing one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects exterior of the property and grounds; reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns weekly during the proper season and cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.
• Trims bushes to maintain neat appearance and desired shape.
• Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.
• Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.
• Contributes to the team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Details

Position: Full‑time Groundskeeper
Location: Murray State University, 615 Gilbert Graves Drive, Murray, KY 42071 (opening also available at other school district locations).
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (full‑time) with flexibility for part‑time as needed.
Pay: $13.00 – $13.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Plans and administers a program of grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules and continued propagation through plants and cuttings. Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the care of grasses and plants. Trims, prunes and removes scrubs, bushes and trees. Performs general janitorial duties including property inspections, landscaping and grounds maintenance.
