SSC Services For Education in Canyon, TX, is seeking a groundskeeper to plan and administer maintenance programs for lawns and plantings. The role includes growing schedules and propagation, trimming shrubs, and general landscaping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service with attention to detail.
• Inspects grounds and reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns and maintains landscaping equipment.
• Trims shrubs and prunes plants to maintain appearance.
• Weeds flowerbeds and cleans exterior walkways.
• Shovels walkways and applies salt or sand in winter.
• Contributes to a professional and safe team environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Details

• Location: TAMU West Texas Gr - 2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016 (Openings at other locations within school district available)
• Schedule: Full‑time schedules; days may vary, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. (Full and Part Time with flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)
• Requirement: One year of prior groundskeeping experience is preferred.
• Pay Range: $15.00 per hour to $18.50 per hour

Job Summary

Plans and administers a program of grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules and continued propagation through plants and cuttings. Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the care of grasses and plants. Trims, prunes and removes scrubs, bushes and trees. Performs general janitorial duties including property inspections, landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects exterior of the property and grounds; reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns weekly during the proper season. Cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.
• Trims bushes to maintain a neat appearance and desired shape.
• Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.
• Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.
• Contributes to the team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with whom there is contact.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
