Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa is seeking a Grounds Keeper/Equipment Operator to maintain hospital properties and provide a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment for patients and staff. This role involves lawn care, snow removal, and operating a range of tractors and power equipment.

The position requires mechanical aptitude, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs. Training on safety and equipment will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of nursery/landscaping or agriculture experience preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (not required if PRN).
• Welding experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular grounds and landscaping maintenance for MercyOne North Iowa properties.
• Assists with snow removal and ice melt application following snow plan.
• Operates, repairs, and maintains tractors, trucks, and power equipment.
• Maintains parts and inventory for smooth operation; troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Plant shrubs, trees and flowers; manage landscaping and signage installations.
