Job summary

Avanti Residential in Miami, FL is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the apartment community’s grounds, pools, and buildings, ensuring clean, safe, and appealing common areas. The role supports maintenance tasks and participates in an ongoing improvement plan.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year maintenance experience, and a clean background. You will travel to sister properties if needed and must have a valid driver’s license.

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.
• Communicate clearly to residents and respond to resident’s service requests and concerns in a timely, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of grounds and common areas.
• Aware of the condition of the property at all times and take immediate steps to correct unsafe and unclean conditions.
• Assist maintenance in maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
• Participate in an ongoing community improvement plan and a preventive maintenance program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Community and Service Manager.

In the early stages of our hiring process after an application is submitted, a pre‑employment assessment called Wonderlic is sent to all qualified candidates. This 45‑minute assessment is a required step in our selection process to help us better understand fit for the position by defining strengths, motivational fit and work style. The Groundskeeper is responsible for efficiently maintaining the physical appearance of the apartment community’s grounds, pools, and buildings.

What You’ll Do…

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed…

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of property maintenance experience preferred.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.
• Communicate clearly to residents and respond to resident’s service requests and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Can use power and hand tools effectively and safely when completing maintenance tasks.
• Must have time management skills to successfully navigate frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, be accountable for actions, self‑motivated.
• Possible travel to other properties owned by Avanti Residential to help sister communities.
• Frequent contact with residents of all backgrounds.
• Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and up‑to‑date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation is required.
• If minimum qualifications are met during resume screening the Wonderlic pre‑employment assessment is required. The assessment will arrive in the email inbox that you provided.
