The Groundskeeper and Facilities Technician is a full-time, groundskeeping-first position responsible for the consistent appearance, safety, and year-round care of Samish Indian Nation’s grounds, landscapes, exterior common areas, housing properties, campuses, land, enterprises when appropriate, parking areas, walkways, and related outdoor assets. The position internalizes routine landscape services previously provided by contract and expands the work beyond mowing, trimming, and limited weeding. This position is also responsible for light-maintenance service tickets that can be safely performed with standard tools and with training and authorization.

Applicants must be a Washington State resident or willing to relocate to Washington State.
Physical Demands: Frequent walking, hiking, standing (40% of time). Frequent bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing (30% of time). Regular periods of sitting, including driving (30% of time). Regularly lifts/carries up to 50 lbs. Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to: manipulate groundskeeping supplies and equipment, tools, power tools, and operate maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and snow removal equipment.
Mental/Visual Demands: Frequent mental and/or visual attention to task is required. Occasionally work requires heavy concentration. Frequent interruptions. Tasks involve eye-hand coordination. Working Environment: Work environment is mainly outdoors with various elements and inclement weather including wind, rain, sleet, cold, and heat. Unavoidable hazards/risks: Work requires frequent vehicular travel and moderate risks which require safety precautions (working around moving parts, chemicals, machines, etc.). Protective equipment and clothing may be required (goggles, gloves, masks, boots, etc.). Random drug tests may be performed.
