Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
• Assures that the grounds are well-groomed and free of trash, debris and hazards.
• Assures that walkways are clean and clear of hazards.
• Maintains landscape plantings as directed by the Department Supervisor.
• Assists during winter months, with snow and ice removal efforts.
• Maintains outside water hoses and equipment as directed.
• Maintains the appearance of outdoor signs, parking lot lines, center road lines and direction-oftravel indicators.
• Maintains and washes all tractors, mowers, snow blower and other outdoor vehicles and
equipment to insure they are in good working order.
• Identifies and replaces dead or diseased plantings as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains outdoor planting, containers and lawn furniture.
• Participates in cleaning of Maintenance Building, i.e., cleaning of floor, walls, tools and bathroom.
• Participate in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs.
• Additional duties as directed and required by supervisor to provide a cohesive, responsible,
effective maintenance team sustaining an attractive, well-functioning facility.
Qualifications:
• Vocational School or training in grounds maintenance preferred.
• Experience in residential or corporate grounds keeping preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must have a current driver's license.
• Must demonstrate ability to operate effectively and safely landscaping and snow removal power
equipment.
• Must demonstrate ability to use landscaping hand tools safely.
• Must demonstrate ability to maintain all machinery, tools and equipment and to keep records of
such maintenance.
