REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Maintenance Services

PAY GRADE: Rank K (NW11)

FLSA: Non-Exempt

PAY FREQUENCY: Bi-Weekly

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Takes direction from and supports the head groundskeeper in the completion of assigned grounds maintenance requests and associated tasks.

Requirements

• Educational Level: None
• Certification/License Required: Valid Georgia driver's license
• Experience: 1-year experience in lawn care/landscaping preferred
• Physical Activities: Routine physical activities including walking, standing, kneeling, negotiating stairs and ladders, lifting and transporting 75 pounds over short distances
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication, computer skills, proficiency in the proper and safe operation of all grounds maintenance equipment

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

Essential Duties

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Takes direction from head groundskeeper and completes all assigned work in a timely manner.
• Promotes good relations and displays a positive image with customers, the public, and peers.
• Provides periodic 24/7 on-call support.
• Completes and submits all paperwork for computerized maintenance database and meets all State and local requirements accurately and timely.
• Maintains proper parts inventory on district vehicles, returning overages to inventory.
• Takes proper care of and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Plans, stages, and completes cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of all assigned equipment.
• Initiates and completes projects in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reports safety issues immediately to the appropriate administrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
