Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer three years of experience as a groundskeeper, or similar work involving general laborer duties which may include planting and maintenance of vegetation, landscaping duties, or pesticide applications. A valid Arizona driver’s license.
REPORTS TO:
Lead Groundskeeper
JOB GOAL:
Perform maintenance and landscaping duties at district sites (ground areas).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects physical condition of properties and report needed repairs.
- Plants, trims, and/or disposes of lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized equipment and/or vehicles.
- Assist appropriate staff with maintaining irrigation systems.
- Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Waters lawn and shrubs.
- Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walkways.
- Paints fences and outbuildings.
- Cleans out irrigation ditches and culverts.
- Cleans, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment used in grounds maintenance such as mowers, tractor/trailers, front‑end loaders, and a variety of hand/power tools.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies for all aspects of groundskeeping; e.g., equipment parts, blades, herbicides, pesticides, flowers, bushes, or trees.
- Drives vehicles such as a car, truck, or van to pick up other workers, supplies and materials.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve‑month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
- FLSA: Non‑Exempt
- Full Time Employee Benefits: employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
EVALUATION:
- Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
