Job summary

Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, MI is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain landscaping for Journeyman properties and rental grounds. You will mow, prune, weed, and care for planters and greens, ensuring clean, safe outdoor spaces for guests and staff.

This in‑person role requires attention to detail, reliable work habits, and the ability to work weekends for events. A high school education is preferred, with at least 1 year of groundskeeping experience.

• Cover weekend green mowing shifts in absence of Green Mower.
• Work weekends for events or water maintenance as necessary.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Skills:

• Must have ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Must have ability to safely operate all tools, equipment and motor vehicles within safety standards and guidelines.
• Must have ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
• Must have ability to use all senses to ensure consistency in work processes.
• Must have ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job function.
• Must have ability to use hands in a precise and repetitive manner for periods of 8 -10 hours a day.
• Must have good organizational skills and planning skills to ensure completion of duties prior to open of business.

• Must have ability to perform moderate physical work; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 40 pounds frequently and performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to 10 hours without sitting.
• Must have ability to sit and focus on a single task for up to 10 hours.

Required Work Habits:

• Work habits include regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness.
• Ability to work flexible schedule to include some holidays and weekend days.

Educational, Development and Work-Related Experience:

• A high school education is preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year of groundskeeping/landscaping experience.
• Familiarity with putting green maintenance and care preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Works outdoors in and around facilities.
• Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and repetitive motion syndromes if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Other Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
