Job summary

Manhasset Public Schools is seeking a 12-month, full-time Grounds Maintenance worker with a schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, fertilizing, snow removal, and operating grounds equipment. NY fingerprint clearance and Civil Service approval are required, with a valid NY Driver License.

Salary is per MESPA contract. This position offers year-round grounds care for school facilities and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• One year of satisfactory experience in grounds maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Mows lawns, trims hedges, rolls, reseeds and fertilizes lawns and cares for trees, shrubs and flowers.
• Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, etc.
• Operates a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
• Participates in the maintenance of recreational area.
• Performs a variety related grounds maintenance tasks.
• Participates in miscellaneous jobs inside buildings during the winer months, as required.
